Creative Learning

Hampstead Theatre’s Creative Learning programme is an integral part of the theatre’s work.  The Creative Learning department has been running since 1998 and in this time has gone from strength to strength.

We work with some of the most disadvantaged young people in our local community and aim to celebrate all aspects of the creative process in ways which support learning and widen access.  We nurture personal development, boost confidence, increase skill building and offer vocational training and career development opportunities.

Creative Learning works closely with Hampstead Theatre artists and writers and strives to create a safe place for all our participants to write, perform, experiment, learn and feel part of our community.  The heart of the programme centres on scriptwriting, inspiring creativity and developing emerging talent.

If you are in school years 6 – 13 and interested in getting involved, then please click: Heat&Light and come along to our Heat&Light Auditions Spring 2012.

In 2012 the Creative Learning and Literary Department plan to launch Hampstead Theatre’s Writers Group (for 18-25 year olds not in full time education).  For more information on this exciting opportunity for new and emerging writers, please watch this space: Writing

Creative Learning is not supported by Hampstead’s core Arts Council grant and is therefore solely dependent on funds raised through trusts and foundation, corporate sponsorships and individual giving.  If you would like to support Creative Learning, please email:  creativelearning@hampsteadtheatre.com or call us on: 0207 449 4200 opt 4.
